Nani lee is a delightful take on a vintage dress I found . We changed a few things and I enjoyed the process of examining this ‘home made’ garment that someone lovingly and carefully made back in the 1940s. So sweet! I hope you enjoy!
NANI LEE fits with a waist tie, and a side zipper.
Cap sleeve, and beautiful sort-of sweetheart neckline.
The optional ribbon trim around the skirt actually gives the skirt some structure.
MATERIALS
FABRIC
Use a mid-weight fabric. For casual day-time a cotton print is lovely. Linen would make the skirt soften a bit and not be as A line, but it would be so pretty. Here we used a silk taffeta for fun and taking the dress into a vintage evening.
Options: Use contrasting print or color for the facings and the ribbon embellishments.
