What a great pattern - exactly my style - ruffels here, tying there...love to wear this outfit!!! I pimped the blouse also with some vintage lace... and got so many compliments!!

Elegant and soooo beautiful!
I learned so much making these pieces. The youtube video of Ms. Tina Givens, placing and making ruffles, was so helpful. I strongly recommend watching that if you are new to sewing these styles like I am. I made my Jacket/top in an eggplant purple linen with a false large coconut button placed just under the bottom of the fold close to the bias binding. I placed three hidden hooks along the main points of the jacket so it stays closed and keeps its shape. After having made a waist belt, and not caring too much for that style on my shape, I decided to cut it into two long strips so as to use them as exaggerated wrist ties, criss crossing them down my forearm, to pull in the wide sleeves at the bottom (I opted for the longer sleeves) which just adds to the upper sleeves fullness and uniqueness! I made the pants in a yarn-dyed linen, black and white houndstooth. I made the shorter version and wear it with my ridding boots. This looks so elegant and it truly is a master piece! I took my time on this one, about a week to 10 days, and could not be happier. I am not an advanced sewer -- 4 years off and on and mostly basic easy sew patterns... for that I would say all though it was a sweet challenge it was possible and worth the paticence. I have make this again soon. As I expect to wear this one out;-D
