RHEA Shirt is a simple shirt with an asymmetrical front and optional breast patch pocket. Button front, asymmetrical collar, cuffs with placket. Let’s make things simple in making a shirt.
Use cotton, linen, lightweight denim. We chose a lightweight cotton voile, but quilting cotton weight is perfect for any shirt. And we always love a soft linen shirt.
WORKSHOP SERIES 3 ORIGINAL SEW PATTERN
The shirt is meant to hang loosely but not too large. Measure across your back ACROSS BACK WIDTH and also ACROSS YOUR SHOULDERS. Then measure the pattern and select the size that will fit with enough ease for comfort, say 2” on each side. (This includes seam allowance).
Review the length of the shirt, and measure that length on your body from your mid shoulder. If you are comfortable with this great! If you’d like to lengthen the shirt, note the adjustable lines on the pattern and adjust accordingly.
Sleeves: are not meant to be large, so just ensure the sleeve piece matching the size you have chosen accommodates your arm, armhole and length.
