I am loving this little dress. I made it in the lightest cotton voile in chartreuse and lime green. You can make it in one color of course, instructions include details on either. Pattern includes bodice pattern, and then follow the instructions for cutting out the skirt panels, which are basically rectangles.
Eileen is unique in arm placement and gathers. Measure the bodice length and then your own body to see where it sits. If you prefer it to be higher or lower, just adjust the length to your preference.
Where Eileen in warm weather as is, with or without pants or leggings. In cooler weather a long sleeve ‘T’ and pants or leggings with boots.
Fabric: Light to Mid-weight Fabric
We used Sophia washed Voile from Robert Kaufman Fabrics, which can be purchased in a wide range of colors. You can use light to mid-weight linen, rayon, velvet, silk, chiffon or organza.

Reignited the joy for a former home ec student.
Lemme first say thank you Ms Tina for putting this “free” pattern out there for all to start building up there wardrobe. I chose this to be a project for my bestie. She’s a great quilter and has always told me that in her experience, you either go for apparel or quilts. Very rarely do the two mesh. I say humbug! As I’m the exception to that thought process cause I enjoy both. I picked out this pattern for our girls weekend project. A little make and take was what originally made me pick this pattern. It wouldn’t be anything so difficult for her to follow along with the pattern instructions. Besides introducing her to the Tina Givens style, which was something I knew she would love! We had such a great time sewing up her item. To see her strut about working it like a runway model, we both felt like teenagers again. Instead of burning brownies and making pillow cases, it made a believer out of her that a person can enjoy quilting AND throwing together a snazzy wardrobe items! It’s true, It doesn’t have to be one or the other! We already have our next sew along planned for our next get together. Plinka pants! So if a person doesn’t have tons of experience, this pattern is doable. Helps you gain confidence and in her case rediscover the joy of sewing up apparel items! So anyone who has limited experience. You can make this item. So many ways to personalise this pattern. I highly recommend and give it 5 stars!

Absolutely love this dress. I made it up in a navy voile and it will go over many of my makes. Am going to make a maxi version of this in linen for the summer.

The most gorgeous of patterns, I love that it's so casual, but I bet it can be formal with the change of fabric. Have bought different fabrics for 3 Eileen's! Can't wait to get stuck in. Thanks for being Tina Givens !
