    Cute

I made this gram an olive green gauze fabric, I shortened the waist as I’m not overly fond of dropped waists, and shortened the skirt by 4”, only because I want to wear it over the Priscilla slips I made…one in coral, another in dark plum/purple for that pop of colour, super happy with the outcome, having made one I can see how easy this dress would be to customise! Thank you Tina for being kind enough to give us this freebie ????

    Darling and Versatile

This dress makes a great summer frock as shown, but I made mine up in light weight suiting wool and wore it as a winter layer. It is adorable over bloomers and a long sleeve t-shirt. I am planning to make a few lighter weight versions for summer dresses and slips to pair with the Bloom.

    Darling dress

Honestly, this was not my first choice for a dress pattern but I liked the Sychil combination with the Petunia tunic. Turns out I was NOT happy with my Petunia, but LOVED my Darling in fine lighweight linen. the cap sleeves are perfect for me. (My petunia is now my painting and dye smock) The Darling, without the ties and buttons on the skirt, was used to make a winter nightgown of Impressive red rayon flannel lined with a silky light rayon voile. Luxurious. So comfy! Mistakenly, I thought the dropped waist would accentuate the hips too much but it falls perfectly and I am so pleased. I see so much potential in Darling. Will use again. Tina's workbooks are just what I need to break open my creative thought processes. Sychil works hand-in-hand to inspire me. If I had my way I would just play, play, play and play more. Thanks Tina.

Really appreciate that the pattern for this gorgeous dress has been shared for free. I am tentatively returning to sewing after a 15 year gap and I was unsure how I would get on with a downloaded pattern. It's been a great experience and it has given my confidence a boost.
